A coproduction of Théâtre la Seizième and Kleine Compagnie At the bottom of the ocean, Petite Ondine, daughter of the King of the Sea, feels like a stranger among her own kind. She dreams of another life, on land. But can a mermaid find her place among humans? Interwoven with songs of Nina Simone, Petite Ondine is a new object theatre production by the Kleine Cie in collaboration with Théâtre La Seizième, inspired by Hans Christian Andersen’s The Little Mermaid. In cabaret form, the use of video reveals to the audience the work on miniature objects and materials that is created directly on stage, underlining the poetry and the fragility of this world underwater.
